The Estonian Festival Orchestra performs an all-Arvo Pärt concert at Carnegie Hall, featuring the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and a number of soloists. The Estonian composer, born in 1935, celebrates his 90th birthday this year. Pärt’s music is famous for its medieval influence, his tintinnabuli style, its religious sentiment, and utterly unique sound.
On October 23 at 6 PM, join Morningside for a pre-concert dinner talk by Dr. Nathaniel Peters before heading to Carnegie Hall. A small number of tickets are available to current students.
