Heinrich Isaac at 500 - Tallis Scholars

The Tallis Scholars are the world's premier early music vocal ensemble, and will be performing a selection of the Renaissance polyphony masters of the 15th century. This music revolutionized the use of harmony in Europe. While thematically religious, it controversially drew from secular melodies, and its rapturous sounds raised concerns of the art distracting from the religious meaning. We will have a discussion over dinner prior to the concert with musicology professor Dr. Nicholas Chong.
