Join the Morningside Institute and the Elm Institute as we read Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina, frequently acclaimed as the greatest novel ever written. Over the course of eight weeks, we will read and reflect on the novel’s eight parts, focusing on the fundamental questions of human life that the novel raises: How do our relationships with others define us and give us meaning? What can make those relationships stifling or life-giving? How do various types of relationships serve as the modes in which we love others? What do we need to do in order to live a meaningful—or even great—life?
This virtual reading group is open to undergraduates only. We will use the Penguin edition, translated by Pevear and Volokhonsky. Please RSVP below to receive the Zoom link.
