On the Uses and Abuses of AI for Education II

  • The Morningside Institute 91 Claremont Avenue Floor 11 New York, NY, 10027 United States (map)

The rise of AI in education makes us ask fundamental questions about ourselves. What is human nature, and what is education? In this series with Teachers College doctoral students Ahmed Almadlouh and Jensen Okimoto, we will investigate the nature of AI and how learning shapes us.

The second session will focus on how Islamic philosophy can inform our understanding of integrating artificial intelligence into our lives, through a contemporary interpretation of the medieval scholar al-Ghazali.

On Wednesday, November 4, at 12 PM, join Ahmed Almadlouh and Jensen Okimoto (Columbia) for this second lunch session, reading Adnan Abbasi’s “The Prayer the Machine Cannot Pray.”
